Kristin Tårnesvik

Born in Tromsø in 1964. Lives and works in Oslo.

Throughout her artistic practice Tårnesvik has consistently sought out new media and techniques to provide resistance in the production process and lead to new movements in unexpected directions. She often works with experimental and intuitive production processes, whereby design, size, colour, and material use are brought to the fore during the process.

For Tårnesvik it is about being in a slow state where she can spend time with and test out different materials and variations of slow and almost mechanical working techniques. She often works with series and variations on a theme, based on a particular method.
